65 + countries to virtually join 2015 Social Good Summit

The place and time where all who wish to do good is at the 6th annual Social Good Summit in New York on September 27th and 28th 2015 at 92nd Street Y. Attendees of the Summit will bring together world leaders, the news media, technology experts, activists and other interested people from around the world. The summit’s dates coincide with the United Nations ratification of its proposed 17 Sustainable Development Goals, which the United Nations calls as the “Peoples Goals”.

Issues regarding extreme poverty and climatic changes will take center state. A collaborative discussion of how technology and news media can play their role in addressing these problems. These are of two of most influential elements that can impact sustainability globally. Every year in the month of September the world leaders gather at the United Nations to discuss global issues and try to find solutions.

“While dignitaries from around the world meet at the United Nations, the Social Good Summit provides a platform for the individuals from around the globe to convene a critically important conversation,” said Henry Timms, the executive director of 92Y, according toa UNDP report.” This is an event where a community of activist, technologist, change makers and entrepreneurs unite and support new ideas and also mobilize new forces to address the combined challenges faced all over the world.”

This is going to be a global event with 65 countries participating in it by partaking in local meets ups worldwide. A broad spectrum of people from different sectors of the society would be a part of this summit and discuss how the digital technology can be used to brighten up the world by the year 2030.

Countries like Jamaica, Surinam, Botswana, Equatorial Guinea and Turkmenistan would be participating in the summit for the first time. Other countries that would also have their representatives are Albania, Bosnia Herzegovina, China, Egypt, Germany, Indonesia, Japan, Germany, Indonesia, Japan, Kenya, Mongolia, Pakistan, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, Srilanka, Sudan, Switzerland, Thailand and Turkey.
