Intel’s New Memory Chip is 1000 Times Faster Than the Flash Memory

Intel and Micron together have discovered a new way to store data that would be denser, tougher and faster, they have introduced the 3DX POINT, which is a non-volatile memory and is 1000 faster. These new chips can in no time speed up everything from cell phones, laptops, sequencers and the super computers.

The material that has been used in the new memory cell changes its physical properties to have high or low electrical resistance. The memory cells are placed in 3 layers that are in the dimensional check board pattern which makes it 10 times denser than the conventional memory.

This memory is durable and non volatile and therefore it can be used for long term storage and can be used in the big time apps like fraud detection, disease tracking and real time data analysis.
